Computer talk

I am not a computer geek, by any mean, if anything, I am illiterate, when it comes to fixing this machine. So, I thought I would ask a few questions, that may help us all, to be better user's of computers.

The questions:

1. What type of computer do you use?

2. Waht type of processor does your computer have?

3. What kind of connections are you using?

4.What operating systems (programs) do you use, on yor puter?

5.Do you use a firewall, anti-virus or anti-spyware programs? If so, which ones are the best?

6. Is your computer new, used or rebuilt?

7. What is your biggest complaint about your computer?

8. How often do you clean up your computer's old files, etc?

9. Do you use special programs, such as cd burners, camera's or other add-on's?

10. How much time, do you spend online?

11. When online, what are some of your favorite places to go?

12. What has been your worst experiences with the computer/internet? Your best expeiences?



My Answers:

1. Windows XP, Professional pack 2002
2. Pentium 4 CPU ( I need more storage space, so I have to use floppy's as backup!)
3. DSL (It is supposed to be a better connection)
4. I use Windows, because I like the word programs. But I am looking at other operating systes for my computer.
5. AVG 8.0 It is a free anti-virus and anti-spyware program that was recommended by our computer geek. It works great for my needs. I use the firewall that came with my computer.
6. My computer was used, and has been rebuilt.
7. It is slower than me. I can type faster than this computer can keep up and it is slow on the present server, even though it is supposed to be faster.
8. Cleaning up my computer is a daily event. I clean with built inprograms, dick cleanup and disk defragmentor, and also use the tools option on the internet to clean up all other files that have been temporarily sent to my computer. Then I use AVG, to make sure all cookies and other bad things are deleted.
9. My daughter uses the CD burner, and I do download digital pictures onto the computer.
10. I use the computer, way too much!
11. I go here most of the time, and I do go to several Christian forums. We also look for ways to save money with our shopping, so I check out several websites, that have to do with money saving tips. Myspace, Facebook and Xianz are three blog spaces I visit, but not regularly.
12. My worst experiences with computers/internet is picking up a virus that crashed my computer. I lost a lot f family pics' that were not uploaded to photobucket or myspace, and that I hadn't gotten a traditional copy of. My best experiences, is meeting new people who become frends.
