Handling Online Spammers/Scammers
I thought this information is important. There are two links that could help us with spammers/scammers. There seems to be a number of spammers/scammers attacking forums, via the pm system. Although we screen our members, some may one day get through. I know that I receive several spams/scams via email, everyday.
These websites handle both US and international spams/scams.
If you receive a pm or email which tell you about some type of hardship or they may tell you you have won a lottery, and you are to receive a check, it is a scam. Sometimes they will ask you to send them money. Please don't.
This is online fraud and if you have received a pm or email, you can file a formal complaint. Please visit this link:
http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/
This complaint form is linked by the FBI's ICCC website, and if you have responded to a pm or email that looks suspicious, or you have sent financial information, you should visit the ICCC website to file a complaint here:
http://www.ic3.gov/
Please pass this information to anyone who has been spammed/scammed. I am still looking for how to report international spam/scam crimes.
